We have an Escrima Study Group that meets on selected weekends.  Please check with Lynn Seiser Sensei as to the next scheduled class.

The Fillipino martial arts (FMA) are know by many names. Escrima, Kali, and Arnis are common names that are collectively thought of as “stick fighting’. The many styles of the FMA are family systems that were developed in actual street fights and combat. The FMA are more than fighting with 28” rattan sticks. FMA is a complete art that starts with sticks and progresses into knife and empty hand fighting. It has become the basis of most knife fighting systems taught in the military today. It is a combative art.

Lynn Seiser began his study of FMA after his military discharge and relocation to southern California in 1972. He trained under the late Guro Ted Lucaylucay in both FMA and JKD (Jeet Kune Do). Lynn has been “burning rattan” and attending stick, knife, and empty-hard fighting seminars for over 30 years. After moving to Georgia in 2006 and joining Roswell Budokan (he is also an Aikidoka) he was persuaded to establish an informal escrima study group and share this art.
