Roswell Budokan is a unique and vibrant Martial Arts and Cultural Arts Center.  Our Aikido dojo was established in 1995 as a non-profit entity.  Our mission has been to provide quality aikido instruction and to spread aikido’s principles of self improvement and non-violent conflict resolution to the general public.  To further those goals, and to establish a cultural and community center focused on Asian arts, we built Roswell Budokan in 2006.

We believe our facility is the largest aikido training center in the United States.  We are committed to serving the community by providing affordable aikido instruction.  Hence, all aikido instructors are volunteers.  Classes for adults and children are offered 7 days per week.  We also offer a separate after-school aikido program (“ASAP”) and Summer Camps for children that include aikido and other activities.  Our aikido instructors are certified by Andrew Sato Sensei (7th dan) of the Aikido World Alliance headquartered in Chicago, and are affiliated with the Aikikai, Aikido’s international governing body in Japan.  We are fortunate to be able to host several national Aikido seminars at our dojo, as well as local “friendship” seminars with other Atlanta area aikido schools.

We also offer programs in several other martial arts and various cultural arts, including  myugai ryu iaido (sword), judo, ju jutsu, escrima, tai chi, yoga, Japanese calligraphy, Japanese language study, traditional Japanese dance and taiko drumming.  We are also proud to house the Momonoki Yochien Japanese language Preschool.  We are host to several yearly events celebrating Japanese culture: our BudokanFest New Year’s event in January and Children’s Day in May.  These events have been regularly attended by hundreds of our neighbors, including the Consulate General of Japan.

Please stop by to say “hello” and learn more about Aikido and our other programs.  Visitors are always welcome!

Roswell Budokan has been selected for the 2016 Roswell Small Business Excellence Award in the Martial Arts classification by the Roswell Small Business Excellence Award Program.
